WHILE YOU’RE HERE

A day at the lodge.

It runs roughly like this. None of it is compulsory, and the coffee is on either way.

  1. From 7:00

    A very orderly breakfast.

    Glazed, chocolate and old-fashioned donuts, stacked in neat rows in the lobby. The complimentary morning spread is worthy of the sheriff’s department. Help yourself.

    Served 7:00 to 10:30, every day of the week.

  2. Late morning

    Take the map and wander.

    Two marked trails leave from the back door, and the grounds map at the front desk shows both of them. It also asks you to be back before dark, which we would echo.

    The Owl Cave

    A rocky hideaway beyond the firs. Take a look at the markings and draw your own conclusions.

    Glastonbury Grove

    A quiet ring of trees at the edge of the grounds. The kind of place that makes you stop talking for a moment.

  3. If it rains

    The Bookhouse library.

    Find a leather chair and a mystery you cannot put down. The shelves hold regional ghost stories, owl and tree field guides, mystery novels and books on surrealist cinema. Borrow one and lose an afternoon.

  4. After dark

    The Night Owl Lounge.

    A good place to compare notes. Pacific Northwest craft beers, locally distilled spirits, and a room that stays quiet enough to hear yourself think.

    The Agent Cooper

    Locally distilled gin, cardamom, juniper and crisp local apple cider. Woodsy, bright, and worth a second thought.

    A rotating selection of regional craft beers: a crisp pale ale, a malty amber, and something dark for a rainy evening.

    From the bar

    Classic cocktails with local spirits and seasonal ingredients. Tell us what you like and we will take it from there.
